THIS WAS AN ACCIDENT

JONAS and Princess Jensen
A fanfic about how Kevin Jonas saved Christmas Jensen Ackles. I want to blame [info]wanttobeatree, but really, this is no one's fault but my own. ON THE BRIGHT SIDE my laptop is better.

This is not safe for anyone. )

Okay, so, I am heading back to Boston today, to the land of uncertain computers! HP is supposed to be sending me parts that will make my laptop better, and they have shipped and I hold out some tiny hope they will actually be there when I get home. But who knows! And, of course, there is the terrifying possibility that these parts will not cure my laptop.

What I am saying is that, ideally, my drabble posting will be in no way affected and life will continue on swimmingly, but I really have no idea. Yay uncertainty!

So, this is it for a bit guys. I have the wonderful luck of experiencing what looks to be carpel tunnel, no typing for the foreseeable future (that is until school essays come back to haunt me) so, if there are important things email and I will call you. I'll try to keep up with the flist, and will probably record some more (look ma, no hands!) but no more typing till it's necessary.

And just because it's clearly important before I leave. My Christmas ornament this year was a mermaid. She's sparkly and kind of awesome (though I don't surf myself) she looks a little like me. So oceanography, figuring out my mythical creature persona is this year, not a bad representation. Maybe there will be pictures.

Until later, with love,

So, Christmas has been fun. This morning I woke up and fought with the AO3 server to post the story that wouldn't go through last night. Somewhere around noon my computer declared the archive closed for maintenance, I don't know if that's happened to anyone else, but it was a wee bit frustrating. So I had to wiggle in through the back door of other people's recs to go find my present, but I'm oh so glad I did! I received Things Moving and Known which is very sweet and wonderful. I asked for FAKE as one of my fandoms, particularly post series domestic romance, with Bikky being the wonderful child/young adult he is. Anyone who's a fan of the FAKE series, I highly recommend reading this. It had me bouncing around with happiness in the first few sentences.

I also received material gifts, most of which I wasn't expecting. I now have Bert's Bees lip balm (exciting, it's not a crystalized mess of wax and honey like the one that went through the 100 degree summer). I opened my Yuletide Candy exchange gift (be proud I saved it till Christmas) and found local Massachusetts yumminess in the form of Cape Cod cherries in milk chocolate and salt water taffy. And finally a almost paired set of gifts I received Sullivan(ipod)'s new best friend, Morgana(iHome). She's small and black and with great amounts of volume and mom and I christened her dancing to Adam Lambert, which leads me to the second present. After having played the whole album at least twice for mom, and having had not so criptic conversations about it it was fairly clear what the wrapped square was. Still, very exciting, now I have lyric sheets that don't lie (the interwebs are wrong!)

Christmas afternoon we walked down the the beach, and then along the marina reading the names of all the boats as we went. Upon our return we persisted in our puzzling, all that's left is the monochrome blue sky behind St. Basil's Cathedral. The sky is going to take forever (perhaps) but my uncle, mom, and dad are working hard on it. We went to the evening showing of Sherlock Holmes, I was both pleased, and not entirely satsified. It was quite amusing at points and there are certainly sections reminiscent of the original books (from what I've read of them) and of the sense I've gathered from friends/fandom. However there were certainly some adjustments. But then again I should be used to the lack of physics, and such, in movies, still I had higher hopes for the accuracy of Sherlock...still. There was certainly enough for the fannish of heart (in may differing and separate ways), and while as our local newspaper says "They've made Holmes a superhero" it's not entirely out of place. Also I was quite pleased to see Kate from Slings and Arrows, she continues to be lovely. The movie entirely set itself up for a sequel, but then again I should have expected that as well. So I recommend it as an action flick, a good Christmas day movie.

Another amusing thing about the film, or rather circumstance was the fact that along with us three other families and girls I'd been on the soccer team with were there. We could have played a game, the three of us and our soccer moms and dads (though my mother was never really a soccer mom). It was very odd, but we all caught up in the aisle of the movie theater and it was a strange, enjoyable occurrence. Also amusing was the thought, later as they played the 'Rules and Responsibilities' reel otherwise known as "Russ and Ellen Take a Trip to the Movies", it should totally be a yuletide fandom, for someone to finally write out whether Russ and Ellen are brother and sister or dating.

Yesterday we went down to Pike Place Market which was lovely. I shared a bubble tea with Uncle Bob and bought David Archuleta's CD at clearance at a used record store. I was browsing and it was lying there on the top of a pile and I just started laughing, I've been reading in "his voice" for at least three days so I figured I might as well buy it. Last night we sat around the fire (which was quite large for our small chimney) and discussed Christmases past. I learn new things about my parents and family all the time.

Okay so I got in my stocking stuffers, and my yuletide, then just before dinner I happened to look at the 20 poor people who didn't have stories at that time...and well. Okay so I missed the deadline by maybe 45 minutes. Sigh. And I should have written it typing but, family and I were all sitting around the fire trading stories and I got to hear about my parent's/uncle's childhoods and it was quite lovely and apparently a 'no technology' zone, so I typed very fast and just missed the deadline (somehow I hoped I was wrong) so now I'm going to bed very late as I'm still somewhat on EST (though this will probably kill the last of it). The sad part of all this is AO3 is so busy I can't upload the story so said recipient can get it bright and early on Christmas. I can only hope they'll have an equally iffy internet connection and be unable to barge their way through the throngs clogging the archive. Then maybe I can get it up there in time for them to see it. *crosses finges* dunno quite how this whole thing works, but I assume with 'stocking stuffers' people can add to the archive (I only missed it by 45 minutes, I tried, seriously!)

Well, we'll see how it goes. Now I seriously need to get some sleep maybe tomorrow (daytime, ha!) the archive will be less busy. Hm...

Fannish musings

I've had so many ideas for fanvids lately that it's driving me a little crazy.  I wish I could vid, like, at all, but I don't have any idea where to start.  Also apparently it's a huge timesuck, or at least it would be for me because I'm obsessive.  Anyway, I'm just going to throw some ideas out there because if these already exist, I want them.

I have other songs to muse about, but currently I don't remember what they are and also I'm busy making dessert.  So!  Thoughts?

Also, I will be posting about my SGA Big Bang playlist and the reasoning behind each and every song (dear god that's going to take a while) but that won't be for a bit.

EDIT: I remembered the other one I wanted to talk about!  And then I added links.
